Improving Soil Moisture Estimation via Assimilation of Remote Sensing Product into the DSSAT Crop Model and Its Effect on Agricultural Drought Monitoring

چکیده
Accurate knowledge of soil moisture is crucial for agricultural drought monitoring. Data assimilation has proven to be a promising technique improving estimation, and various studies have been conducted on data based land surface models. However, crop growth models, which are ideal tools simulation applications, rarely used assimilation. Moreover, the role in monitoring seldom investigated. In present work, we assimilated European Space Agency (ESA) Climate Change Initiative (CCI) product into Decision Support System Agro-technology Transfer (DSSAT) model estimate root-zone moisture, evaluated effect The results demonstrate that estimates were significantly improved after Root-zone had better agreement with situ observation. Compared index modeled without remotely-sensed observations, could improve at least one level performed when compared winter wheat yield. conclusion, model-based effectively improves estimation further strengthens moisture-based indices

Data Assimilation of Near-Surface In-Situ Soil Moisture Using the DSSAT Crop Model
Soil water is an important variable in agricultural environments as it contributes to yield response as well as areas of environmental concern including erosion, runoff, and nitrogen leaching (through deep drainage). Crop models have been established as a method for simulating agricultural production and examining ecosystem responses. However, because all crop models are based on limited system...

the central purpose of this study was to conduct a case study about the role of self monitoring in teacher’s use of motivational strategies. furthermore it focused on how these strategies affected students’ motivational behavior. although many studies have been done to investigate teachers’ motivational strategies use (cheng & d?rnyei, 2007; d?rnyei & csizer, 1998; green, 2001, guilloteaux & d?...

Abstract This thesis examines the feasibility of assimilating space borne remotely-sensed microwave data into WATClass using the ensemble Kalman filter. W...
متن کاملSoil Moisture Estimation Using Remote Sensing
Knowledge of soil moisture content in the root zone is important throughout a wide range of environmental applications, yet adequate monitoring or modelling of this parameter, particularly at larger spatial scales, is difficult due to its high spatial and temporal variability. To overcome the land surface model limits on soil moisture estimation accuracy, point measurement spatial coverage limi...
متن کاملEstimation of soil moisture using optical, thermal and radar Remote Sensing )Case Study: South of Tehran(
Traditional methods of field measurement of soil moisture in addition to the difficulty, the need for manpower and money and fail to take place on a large scale to be able to show moisture. Therefore, remote sensing has become a widespread use .Landsat 8 satellite data and Sentinel-1 radar satellite from Tehran were provided. 72 soil samples were taken at the same time by satellite passing from...
